Louise Small and Ben Cole ran the fastest parkrun times in the UK this weekend (8th June).
Our weekly parkrun top ten is now sponsored by the Coggiola Endurance Centre, a residential coaching and performance facility in the Italian Alps. Follow on Instagram for more updates in the new future.
Whilst Tonbridge’s James West was preparing for a top 10 finish at the Euro’s, his club mate Ben Cole was topping the charts back in the UK. Cole ran 15:09 at Lydiard top claim top spot, two seconds off his parkrun best in a season that has included a 14:10 5km and PBs over 3000m, 10k and half marathon.
AFD’s Louise Small topped the parkrun charts as well this week with 16:49 at Longrun Meadow. Small has been a leading name in British club running for many years and has enjoyed an excellent couple of years with a 16:03 5km PB this season and running 2:30:54 for the marathon last year.
Round up of the rest
Morag Millar was back in the top three again this week, with an excellent 16:50 clocking at Auldcathie District. Millar was a silver medalist at the Scottish 5km Champs in May. Alex Eykelbosch was one second further back in third with 16:51 as the top three were split by as many seconds. A quiet year of racing for the Dacorum athlete didn’t stop her running a 2:36:26 marathon debut in London in April.
US based middle distance athlete Joseph Rogers has set PBs over 800m, 1500m and mile this year and his 15:14 was enough to pick up second spot on this week’s rankings. Coach, marathon man and pacing specialist Kevin Quinn rounded off the podium with 15:21 at Bromley parkrun.
The fastest course?
It was a 2-2 draw for Lydiard and Bushy parkruns, but again Bushy misses out with Lydiard taking the top spot in the men’s rankings.
