Tamara Beach and Charlie Brisley ran the fastest parkrun times in the UK this weekend (7th September).

Our weekly parkrun top ten is now sponsored by the Coggiola Endurance Centre, a residential coaching and performance facility in the Italian Alps. Follow on Instagram for more updates in the new future.

We had one under the 17 and one under the 15 minute barriers this weekend for both the men and women’s results so, now that we’re back from the Tor des Geants, here is Saturday’s parkrun top 10.

Tamara Beach was the fastest lady with an excellent 16:56 at Cardiff parkrun. The Les Croupiers RC athlete is listed as Cornwall AC on Power of 10, but given it’s a south Wales parkrun, we’re not sure what to think. It’s not quite a parkrun PB (16:48), but it is her fastest since 2019 so that is a reason to celebrate.

Charlie Brisley was down at Dover Waterfront parkrun taking the first finisher’s spot in the name of Deal Triathlon club so local rivalry might be feisty next weekend. 14:57. Another runner with a different club on power of 10, the 14:07 5k road runner clocked a 14:32 parkrun PB at the same event early this year, but the form is still going strong after a busy summer which saw Charlie break 14 minutes for 5000 on the track with 13:53.72 in June.

The best of the rest?

It was Bryony Gunn and Alison Campbell who completed the women’s podium with a 17:03 at Cannon Hill in Birmingham of Gunn and a 17:10 for Campbell in Widnes.

The men’s podium included an athlete I coach, Rob Payne, who is training for Chester Marathon and flying at the moment. 15 flat at Market Rasen Racecourse parkrun has left the GB 24hr runner with a taste for a sub 15 minute outing, but that will have to wait… it’ll most likely come in the first half of a 10k later this year.

Mohammed Hussein has been loving life at Leicester Victoria parkrun recently and features again on the podium with a 15:02 first finish.

The fastest course?

Three course featured twice this week, Market Rasen Racecourse, Nonsuch and Waterworks, Belfast, so it goes to a count back. 2nd and 10th for Market Rasen, 4th and 9th for Waterworks Belfast and 5th and 8th for Nonsuch means it’s might close but Market Rasen Racecourse take it by a hair!
