Lea Adamson and James McMurray ran the fastest parkrun times in the UK this weekend (31st August).

Our weekly parkrun top ten is now sponsored by the Coggiola Endurance Centre, a residential coaching and performance facility in the Italian Alps. Follow on Instagram for more updates in the new future.

There was a showdown at Belfast Victoria parkrun for Lea Adamson and Robyn McKee and only five second separated the two when the crossed the finish line in Northern Ireland. Adamson clocked 17:01 ahead of McKee’s 17:06 with an equal number of seconds between first and second men’s finishers at the same event. It must have been an exciting one!

James McMurray was at Luton Warden parkrun and his 14:32 gave a bigger winning margin from the chasers. The St. Albans AC runner has run a 14:01.85 PB on the track this year so a parkrun PB was on the cards sooner or later.

The best of the rest

At Rushmoor parkrun it was Charlotte Dannatt who was third woman with 17:16 for the Camberley & District AC athlete. Like McMurray, she has PB’d on the track over 5000m with 16:00.37 at the BMC Grand Prix – World Athletics Challenger in June.

At Leicester Victoria Mohammed Hussein ran 15:01 and features again in our top ten after multiple podium spots this year, and just behind him in 15:10 there were two runners, Callum Hanlon and Harry Johnson, who ran at Warwick Racecourse and Huddersfield parkrun respectively.

There’s a few hills at the Huddersfield parkrun, having run there myself one Christmas Day.

The fastest course

It was Belfast Victoria who featured four times this week and we often see training groups or just a bunch of fast times on the same weekend at the event. Certainly a good one to go to if you’re after a PB.
