Pops Hainsworth and Thomas Patrick ran the fastest parkrun times in the UK this weekend (27th July)
Our weekly parkrun top ten is now sponsored by the Coggiola Endurance Centre, a residential coaching and performance facility in the Italian Alps. Follow on Instagram for more updates in the new future.
It was another fast week for the men and women of the parkrun top 10 and some familiar names making the cut, but some new ones too.
Pops Hainsworth, who was 2nd in these rankings back in September 2022 when she ran 16:48 at Plymouth parkrun, is still someone we can’t find on Power of 10 or other sports. The only search results are a parkrun top 10 article and a parkrun report. So if you have some more information, let us know. This weekend she ran a parkrun PB of 16:22 at Edgbaston Reservoir parkrun and took the top spot!
Thomas Patrick was the fastest chap when he crossed the line in 14:45 at Cassiobury parkrun. The Shaftesbury and Barnet Harrier has been running for Boise State university in the US and has a 13:53.96 5000m PB indoors from last year as well as impressive 800, 1500 and 3000m marks of 1:51.08, 3:44.39 and 8:04.62.
The best of the rest?
Last week’s top lady had to settle for second this week as Morag Millar ran 16:33 at Perth parkrun and Louise Small, second three weeks ago, had to settle for third with 16:47 at Hove Promenade. Both are regular parkrun top 10 athletes and also rather good outside of parkrun too.
Callum Hanlon was second quickest male with 14:59 at Warwick Racecourse parkrun, just nipping under the 15 minutes barrier for the first time in a few years at parkrun. Mohammed Hussein, another who featured top of the charts last week. It was a similar time of 15:04 at the same event, Leicester Victoria, so another good week for him.
The fastest course?
It was twice for Storey’s Field, Dulwich and Warwick Racecourse, who took the win with a second and a fourth!
