Sonia Samuels and Marc Scott ran the fastest parkrun times in the UK last weekend (13th July) and it was Morag Millar and Mohammed Hussein this weekend (20th July)

Our weekly parkrun top ten is now sponsored by the Coggiola Endurance Centre, a residential coaching and performance facility in the Italian Alps. Follow on Instagram for more updates in the new future.

Last weekend out editor was racing the Gran Trail Courmayuer 55k and at the end of the day there was some issues with a car being towed full of all of our stuff, so the parkrun top 10 unfortunately slipped through the net. This week though, we’ve got two weeks worth!

This weekend’s fastest woman was Scotland Morag Millar at Strathclyde parkrun in 16:53. Millar, a parkrun top 10 regular, was actually in fifth place in 17:17 at Falkirk parkrun the week before.

Mohammed Hussein was the fastest man this week in 15:02, with a clear 22 second lead over second fastest. The Roadhoggs Leicester athlete was at his home event at Leicester Victoria parkrun. He ran 15:11 there last week and ran fourth in the rankings, but nine second quicker shot him up to the summit.

Freya Bradley was second fastest women with 17:08 at Three Brooks parkrun and Jessica Gibbon just behind in 17:13 at Higginson parkrun, Marlow.

The next spot on the men’s podium was shared by Steven Denby and Adam Bowden in 15:24 at Norwich and Porthcrawl parkruns.

The week before?

Seven days earlier the top spot had an Olympic feel to it in both lists with marathoner Sonia Samuels clocking an excellent 16:38 at Watermead County Park parkrun and 5000 & 10,000m Olympian Marc Scott running 14:37 at Telford parkrun.

The podium standard was a wee bit higher with three men under 15 minutes and two women under 17 minutes.

The quickest events, over a two week royal rumble, ended with four spots for Storey’s Field above three spots for Bushy and Norwich parkruns.
