Laura Graham has qualified the European Athletics Championships Marathon Cup team in Berlin next year.
Laura Graham has secured her place for the European Athletics Championships Marathon Cup team after winning the national title at the 38th edition of the Dublin Marathon yesterday (October 29) combined with the qualifying standard from the Berlin marathon in September when she clocked 2:37:05.
Graham, who finished fourth overall, retained her national title in 2:39:06 – there were spots up for grabs for the first male and female across the line in respective times of 2:18:00 and 2:39:00.
The Mourne Runners’ athlete secured selection with her time in Berlin and the national crown as per the selection policy that the first finishing eligible athlete, male and female, will be selected once they have achieved the 2017 Dublin Marathon performance standard of 2:18:00 (men) and 2:39:00 (women) or half marathon standard (65:00/75:00) at any time during the qualification period on, at least, one occasion.
