A new course record and an increased entry  of almost 300 marked the third Tracton four-mile which took place around a hilly circuit near Carrigaline, Co Cork.

Nathan O’Leary —at 22 one of the rising Leevale stars under the guidance of coach Donie Walsh -— knocked seven seconds off of the previous best held by Pat Hennessy when coming home first in 20:23.
