Sophie Wallis and Bryn Woodall ran the fastest parkrun times in the UK this weekend (24th August).

Our weekly parkrun top ten is now sponsored by the Coggiola Endurance Centre, a residential coaching and performance facility in the Italian Alps. Follow on Instagram for more updates in the new future.

It was another parkrun ranking topper for Sophie Wallis, who is no stranger to the table here and often hits under 16 minutes for a Saturday morning parkrun outing. This weekend it was a 15:49 at Doddington Hall parkrun, which would have been a parkrun PB in 2023 or any year before but a 15:35 at the same event in May is the mark to beat now.

Bryn Woodall was the fastest chap and the only one under 15 minutes with a 14:45 at Conwy parkrun. The Colwyn Bay ACC athlete has a 5000 best of 14:00.11, agonisingly close to sub 14 so hopefully that comes soon for the U23.

The best of the rest

Amy Clements was second quickest and also under 17 minutes with 16:58. At Sutcliffe parkrun it was a clear first finish for the Kent AC and it;’s only two seconds away from a parkrun best that dates back to 2017 so we’ve chuffed for the V40 runner showing such great form.

Tom Charles and Ollie Garrod both love to race and they both feature on our podium this week with Charles in second with 15:11 and Garrod in third in 15:20. The big race between these two though isn’t over five kilometres on a Saturday morning, but who can break 2:20 for the marathon. They’re both capable, but who will dip under the magic mark first (or can this ultra-runner beat them both to it?).

Kirsty Longley is another V40 runner who is in fantastic form these last few years and a 17:01 at Widnes parkrun was good enough for third spot today. Longley also loves a race and has been active this August with 5ks and 10ks as well.

The fastest course?

Widnes and Doddington Hall both feature twice but Doddington takes it at the line with a first and a seventh.
