Mollie Williams tops the women’s rankings this week after running 16:45 at Alexandra parkrun. Taking place in Moss Side in Manchester, it is the Stockport Harrier’s fastest parkrun since she set her best of 16:33 at the same course in November 2023. So far this year, Mollie’s sole race was the Newcastle 10k, where she clocked 34:33 back in January.
A trip to the other side of Manchester is needed for top spot on the men’s rankings. That honour goes to Harry Wakefield, who clocked a rapid 14:22 at Heaton parkrun. He is over half a minute faster than any other athlete this weekend. It is a 23 second improvement on his previous parkrun best, set in December on the same course. It was a good end to a year that saw him run under 1:50 for 800m for the first time. Impressively, his time is four seconds faster than his 5k PB, although he has run 13:54 on the track.
Best of the Rest
Sarah Winstone and Isabella Harrison complete the podium on the women’s rankings. The pair ran 16:53 and 17:01 at Poole and Battersea respectively. Both courses regularly feature in the top-ten rankings, although it is the first time in a while that Battersea has not made it to the top-two on either gender side.
Amongst the men, Ben Robinson’s 14:55 at Marine Parade puts him second on this week’s list. Meanwhile third place is shared by Andrew Humphries at Market Rasen Racecourse and Simon Nott at Quakers Walk. Both ran 15:14.
Fastest Course
With four appearances, it looks like the fastest course once again goes to Battersea. An honourable mention for Alexandra Park and Poole, who both feature twice.
