Adam Hickey was back at it again and rising star Hayley Carruthers impresses. Here are the fastest times at UK parkruns on Saturday (May 19).
Adam Hickey ran 14:25 at the Southend parkrun to record the fastest time across the UK this week. The Southend runner has claimed the men’s top spot on three occasions in the last five weeks, with previous runs of 14:42 and 14:37.
Hickey, the reigning English cross country champion, ran a super fast personal best of 13:54 at the Ipswich Twilight 5k last Friday (May 12) and holds the course record in Southend of 14:15.
Hayley Carruthers, a relative newcomer to running, posted a 5k best of 16:51 at the Wolverhampton parkrun to claim the women’s top spot. Carruthers, who joined Rotherham Harriers at the end of 2017, clocked a superb 2:47:47 at the London Marathon in April.
