Maybe something was in the air following Alex Yee’s superb run last week, as Dulwich once again hosted the fastest time across the UK – this time on the women’s side. Here are the quickest times at parkrun on Saturday (April 7).
Tamara Armoush, who represented Jordan at in the 1500m the World Championships in London last year, ran the quickest women’s time this week with 16:38.
It was a parkrun best for the Birchfield Harrier and follows on from the recent success with her club at the Northern Road Relays.
John Beattie, a 2:16 marathoner, ran a parkrun best 15:14 at Sherwood Pines to record the fastest men’s time on Saturday.
The Newham & Essex Beagles runner was taking part in his ninth parkrun and earlier in the year ran 14:27 on the roads at the Armagh 5k.
Highgate Harriers’ Hannah Viner once again featured in the top 10, running 17:12 at the Hackney Marshes parkrun to record the second fastest women’s time.
Northern Ireland features second in the men’s top 10 this week, with Ben Branagh running 15:19 at the Waterworks parkrun in Belfast.
Cannon Hill in Birmingham was the most represented parkrun, with five (four men and one woman) runners in total across both top 10s.
As is customary, no barcode, no top 10, meaning an unknown runner with 15:16 on the men’s side and an unknown woman with 17:47 at Rushcliffe parkrun miss out.
