Conall McClean ran 15:33 at the Belfast Victoria parkrun to record the fastest men’s time across Ireland on Saturday (February 23).

It was a new best for the St Malachy’s teenager who brings his parkrun total to an impressive 134.

Earlier this month, McClean finished third over 3km at the Armagh International Road Races.

Catherina Mullen claimed the women’s quickest honours on Saturday after a parkrun best run of 17:21 at the Porterstown event in Dublin.

The Metro St Brigid’s runner, who recently finished third at the Raheny 5 mile road race, was running at parkrun for the fifth time.

Adam Ferris took the men’s number two spot after running 15:40 at the Belfast Victoria event. Like McClean, the youngster is a member of St Malachy’s AC.

Meghan Ryan ran 17:25 at the Marlay parkrun to record the second fastest women’s time across Ireland.

The Dundrum South Dublin runner recently helped her club to the women’s team prize at the Raheny 5 mile road race after finishing in seventh place.

The Musa Cookstown and Malahide parkruns were the most represented events among the top 10 with three runners each.
